(Via TMZ): An Alabama theatre owner is banning “Beauty and the Beast” because he doesn’t want to expose his customers to the new gay character in the film.

The owner of Henagar Drive-In Theatre says Disney’s decision to add its first homosexual character was the last straw for him … and says he refuses to “compromise on what the Bible teaches.”
He added, “If we can not take our 11 year old grand daughter and 8 year old grandson to see a movie we have no business watching it. If I can’t sit through a movie with God or Jesus sitting by me then we have no business showing it.”
He says he only wants to show “wholesome movies” without sex, nudity, homosexuality or foul language.
Of course this is happening in Alabama. Where else? I mean honestly. A gay character in a movie is where we draw the line? We’re good with a love story between a girl and a goat/buffalo/whatever the hell kind of creature Beast is supposed to be. That’s good and wholesome family fun, but gayness is just too over the top. Can’t have that.

To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure why I’m all that surprised. After all, this is coming from a place in which at least 46% (fact checked, trust me) of marriages occur between first cousins, Moon Pies are a delicacy, and a double wide is considered luxury housing. all of those things are perfectly wholesome!

Also, why does this jamoke think that he can just go around choosing what Alabama folks can watch for movies? If Big Roy and his toothless cousin/old lady want to eat some popcorn and watch some monster try and bag Emma Watson for a couple hours, he should be allowed to do just that. But in all seriousness, it’s 2017 folks. Homosexuality, in any capacity, should no longer be a headline or a controversy and it’s pretty mind bottling that it still is.

P.S. If you don’t get the “Mind Bottling” reference, Chazz Michael Michaels will be very dissappointed
