Yeah I know the NBA started last night and I’m a day late. What’re you gonna do, tell on me? Here’s what I see playing out in the NBA.

The West should be bananaland per usual. You’ll probably have two teams win 65 or so games and another that’ll be close. The Warriors aren’t as much of a lock as people think though, especially in the playoffs. They lost a lot defensively in Ezeli and Bogut, and I can’t see David West and/or Zaza Pachulia making it the whole year.

The Spurs will be right there with Golden State because Popovich is the Bill Belichick of the NBA and Kawhi Leonard is the most underrated player in the game. Gun to my head I’d probably go Golden State 1 and San Antonio 2.

After those two you have kind of a log jam with some good teams. The Clippers, Rockets, Jazz, Trail Blazers and Thunder will all be in the playoffs. That will leave the Mavs, Grizzlies, and the TWolves to duke it out for the last spot. I think whoever wins this Conference will win the title.

  1. Warriors
  2. Spurs
  3. Rockets
  4. Clippers
  5. Jazz
  6. Trail Blazers
  7. Thunder
  8. Timberwolves

Conference Champion: Spurs

The East is getting better, but not nearly as good as the West. It’s pretty much Cleveland then a mile, then the Celtics, Raptors, and Hawks, then a country mile and then everyone else.

The race for the 2 seed should be very interesting. The Celtics and Raptors should be very even and the Hawks are right there too. I expect the Wizards to contend for a spot, and the Pistons should be back in the playoff mix too. I love the Bucks, and Jason Kidd might be Coach of the year.

There just flat out isn’t as much competition in the Eastern Conference. The top 4 are pretty much a lock, it is just a matter of seeding and then there is a whole lot of mediocrity with the Knicks, Bucks, Hornets, Heat, Wizards, Pistons, Pacers, Magic, Bulls, Etc.

  1. Cavs
  2. Raptors
  3. Celtics
  4. Hawks
  5. Hornets
  6. Bucks
  7. Knicks
  8. Pistons
