(Fox News)An Italian restaurant in New Mexico is under fire after making merchandise with a slogan that mimics the Black Lives Matters Movement.

KOAT-TV reported Monday that Paisano’s in Albuquerque is selling “black olives matter” shirts and hats after making national headlines for putting the phrase on a sign outside the restaurant.

Paisano’s owner Rick Camuglia said he emblazoned the phrase on the restaurant’s main sign to sell a new recipe: a tuna dish with black olive tapenade.

Within hours of Paisano’s post, Camuglia told Fox News last month the page was flooded with negative comments and the restaurant was inundated with phone calls.

“People were calling us racist. Saying we were a white supremacist restaurant. Some got really derogatory and just started cursing me out.”

Camuglia insisted he was not trying to stir racial tensions and was only trying to sell food.

Well would you look at that. Just as I thought America couldn’t get any more soft, any more PC, any more embarrassing we have this story come out of the wood work. I mean come on people. This was obviously just a play on words that was meant to get a laugh. There were clearly no racial overtones whatsoever, but once again we have the PC police coming to the rescue of absolutely nothing. Aren’t there more important things in the world today? Like when we’re going to get a Bieber and Selena sextape? Or when Roger Goodell will get fired? Or when Wood and Prent will take over the world? These are the questions we should be focusing on people. Not a guy thats taking something thats been in the news and making a pun out of it to sell some fucking pasta. We’re better than this. We need to be better than this
